As the long weekend comes to a close, I look back at the adventures and relaxation of the weekend and see how it will benefit me going into a busy month at work. This weekend was full of activity, yet I was able to disconnect and relax.
First off, the weekend held the occurence of my 23rd birthday, not a big deal to me, but a great opportunity to spend time with friends face to face, and catch up with people I don’t see as often as I would like. With everybody there face to face, it allowed me to disconnect and not spend my time staring at a screen as I tend to in my day to day life.
I managed to get out and enjoy some activities in the community as well, from the Night market in Richmond, sampling flavors from around the world, to a nice local hike for some exercise, and to see the beauty my community has to offer. These activities allowed for really getting my mind off of work for a change and allowed me to shift gears and truly let my brain have some time off from work. It’s rare for me to have a good amount of time not thinking about work in some capacity, but I can truly say that this weekend was truly very relaxing, and something I definitely needed.
With the rest and relaxation of this long weekend, I feel primed and ready to tackle the busy month ahead of me, and be my best self everyday, not only for myself, but for everyone that counts on me day to day.
Until next time…
