Why are people too proud to admit when they don’t know something? This causes far more problems than it solves in our modern world of business and life. Information is always at the tips of your fingers in the smartphone age, there is truly no reason to be unable to admit when you don’t know something.
Humility is a characteristic that makes people more personable, and easier to get along with. The first step in humility is knowing what you don’t know. There is no shame in not knowing something. The true issue is being afraid to ask for help when you need it, whether you’re afraid to admit you don’t know something, or you’re afraid to ask for help. Trust me, asking for help will never make a leader or boss upset when you genuinely want to learn something, what will make them angry is when you can’t admit you don’t know and end up causing a much larger issue in the long run.
That’s enough of this rant for now, but there will be more posts to come soon.
